Exclusively to benefit The Kitchen, John Armleder and Christian Marclay have created a suite of seven silkscreen prints, released in a special limited edition of 20. While the artists have collaborated on performances for decades—including a 1985 appearance with The Kitchen—this is their first collaboration on a physical artwork. The artists produced these pieces on the occasion of April’s performances of their Fluxus-inspired Simultaneous Duo Versions. Meeting on-site at the Lower East Side Printshop, Armleder and Marclay used a crate found in the printshop as a stencil for Krylon spray paint, the color combinations of which were selected using chance procedures. The suite’s humorous title—No Runs, No Drips, No Errors!—
comes from the famous 1970s Krylon advertisement featuring Cincinnati Reds Hall-of-Fame catcher Johnny Bench.
