Mat Kastella Live at the Port Authority Bus Terminal

On View: July 27-July 27, 2023

Performing Arts Stage at Port Authority Bus Terminal (8th Avenue between 40 & 41st Streets, near the Jackie Gleason statue)

Time:

7:00 pm, Free and open to the public

Mat Kastella’s work references the nostalgia of Y2K-era pop to convey a kind of pre-digital togetherness. His performances are held in public parks and train stations around the city. In fact, he first met Stacy and Tom, co-founders of Montez Press Radio, on the street because they heard him outside their studio on Canal Street and came down to introduce themselves and invite him on air.

Kastella’s persona as an artist is a forever-young pop star who dreams of touring an unbroken America. Live from the stage at Port Authority, the busiest bus terminal in the world, Kastella, joined by dancers Lawrence Ward and Yasuharu Kawate, performs songs off of his upcoming album. Opening acts by Club Cringe.

This program is organized as part of Montez Press Radio's 12-Month Residency.
