Date: March 27, 1980-March 28, 1980

Swift and Naked, composed by Lucia Dlugoszewski, was a series of chamber music that premiered at The Kitchen in March 1980. Consisting of five compositions, the performance featured ten musicians: David Taylor, Don Palma, Linda Quan, Chris Finkel, Lewis Paer, Jaime Austria, Joseph Tamosaitis, Michael Willens, Peter Sacco, and Lois Martin. Dlugoszewski performed at timbre piano–her invention comprising a piano with bowing techniques and mechanisms. Described by the composer herself as “delicacies of daring constructions,” Swift and Naked aimed to showcase a sort of “kinesthetic recklessness,” surprising and strange sound, along with an “alternative elegance,” not adhering to either incongruity or predictability. No recording of the performance is presently locatable.
